Abstract
This article presents an overview of the conservation and reuse of Mexican urban architectural heritage in distinct periods of the country’s history. This is followed by an example section on the Mexican city of Morelia, old Valladolid, Michoacan, whose historic center is added to world cultural heritage list. The article concludes with a mention of the importance of an increasingly broad and population-wide mobilization in the tasks of heritage conservation.
