Resumen

The present article carry out a survey of the racial-ethnic and occupational profile of the families that composes the staff of coffee plantations of São Carlos during beginning of the twenth century. Across the consultation of a municipal census, it was possible to suggest some relations among the conformation of the labor market and the (re)construction of identities and of sociability models in this specific context.
