Esclarecimentos sobre o Qualis Periódicos e a Avaliação da CAPES (2025–2028) - Revista de Enfermagem da UFJF - Estrato A5

2026-01-21

The Revista de Enfermagem da UFJF informs the scientific community, authors, reviewers, and graduate programs that, according to official clarifications issued by CAPES, the Qualis Periódicos system was used exclusively in the 2021–2024 Quadrennial Evaluation and will not be adopted in the 2025–2028 evaluation cycle.

According to the CAPES statement “On Qualis Periódicos in the 2021–2024 Quadrennial Evaluation”, Qualis functioned as a preparatory stage of the evaluation process, with use restricted to the aforementioned quadrennium (2021–2024). In this sense, as of 2025, there is no official journal classification, and the Qualis lists now integrate the Evaluation Memory, without updates in subsequent cycles, as clarified in the following publication:

In the current evaluation cycle (2025–2028), CAPES has adopted new guidelines for the assessment of intellectual production. Under this new model, the object of evaluation is the scientific article, rather than the journal, and reference strata (A1 to A8) are defined for article classification based on criteria such as indexing, metrics, and databases.

As stated in the Area Document, scientific articles published in Nursing journals indexed in BDENF or LILACS are classified within stratum A5 for the purposes of evaluating intellectual production in the 2025–2028 period.

For this reason, considering that the Revista de Enfermagem da UFJF is indexed in the BDENF database, articles published in this journal are classified as A5, with the possibility of being ranked in higher strata than A5 if they demonstrate high social impact for the journal.

The Revista de Enfermagem da UFJF thanks all partners for their collaboration and reaffirms its commitment to scientific quality, editorial transparency, methodological rigor, and alignment with graduate evaluation guidelines, maintaining continuous efforts to strengthen scientific production in the field of Nursing.
