REGIONALIZATION AS SEEN BY MANAGERS: A DIALECTIC APROACH

Abstract

 

Completed in 2008, the Study of Regionalization and Organization of Medium and High Complexity Health Care in the Southeast Macro-region of the state of Minas Gerais, conducted by researchers from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) and the Municipal Government of Juiz de Fora and beginning science students from UFJF, provided the empirical and conceptual support for this article, which seeks to examine the data and reflexes related to health care of medium and high-level complexity, obtained from the municipal managers of the University Hospital (HU/CAS/UFJF). The article analyzes the regulation process of the flows of users of the health care network in the region of influence of health care services of the municipality of Juiz de Fora. The principal concern is with identifying how daily contact occurs between the Managers of the neighboring municipalities with the Unified Health Care System (SUS) and the HU/CAS/UFJF. The dialectic approach provided the methodological basis for this study, considering the following categories: contradiction, totality and historicalness.
