The participation process of elderly through of experiences and practices of Popular Educators Movement

Abstract

The elderly participation in Health Popular Education practices in a town called Recife /PE expresses as socialization and promotion of autonomy and freedom forms to each one.  In an environment of fighting with the institutionalization of Popular Education in the Municipal Health policy comes up the Popular Educators Movement(MEP), a non-governmental organization (NGO)  formed by health  community agents  that developed  health basic attention projects with  different segments of  community and, among them, the elderly. This work aims to know the social and historical reality where these practices took place. This research uses the participative observance through the elderly experiences of investigated elderly to analyze and understand the meaning of this elderly participation in these practices. These experiences are showed through the speeches and descriptions of some aspects observed in the local reality. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
