PROFILE OF PREGNANT ADOLESCENTS OF A UNIT OF HEALTH OF THE FAMILY

Abstract

This work is a descriptive survey that aimed to know the profile of pregnant teenagers from the Family Health Unit of the Village Marconi, in Boa Esperança- MG, in 2006, since the rate of pregnancy in this age group was 25.00 %, higher than the national average, state and municipal levels. A form was applied to all 22 pregnant teenagers belonging to the unit and to the presentation of data using the weighted average and the separation in early and late adolescents. It was found that 72.73% of pregnancies occurred in late teens and these, 50.00% were married, 12.50% worked and three planned the pregnancy. The abandonment of the study motivated by the pregnancy occurred in 83.33% of early adolescents and 25.00% of late. Despite the 18.19% reported difficulties of access to contraceptive methods, they were used by 31.81% of adolescents, and the condom oral hormonal contraceptives and the favorites. The changes offered by motherhood were reported as positive experience of late by 56.25% and 33.34% of early. It was concluded that between late pregnancy was not reported as a problem. This study provided subsidies for family health team to bring the work in the area of sexuality with young people, emphasizing the family planning and support for continuation of studies, as being a needy population.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
