Social participation in primary health care: conceptions and practices of users and workers of Family Health Program

Abstract

This research has as objectives to analysis the conceptions that users and workers of Family Health Program, has about the social participation and to identify as the social participation effects itself in context of basic attention to health. It adopted the qualitative methodology, having as techniques of collect data the interview semi-structured and focal group. The study counted with 100 participants, being 70 workers of Family Health Program and 30 users. The analysis of empirical material was oriented by content analysis, in modality thematic. The results revealed that participant comprehend the social participation of critical mode, which display a new form of relation State/Society,that makes possible the democratization of relations in health services; to recognize the health counsels as spaces of management shared; and revealed limits and possibilities in practices of social participation in range of basic attention.
