Abstract

The present work evaluates the coverage and the quality of the families cadaster at the Minas Gerais municipal districts of Coronel Pacheco, Goianá, and Piau, through the comparison between the record “A ”applied by the Community Health Agents and the data obtained from the investigations accomplished directly in the domiciles. The research happened in November and December months in the 2006, when 192 families, selected of aleatory form, were interviewed. The high cadaster coverage of the verified families (97,9%) as well as the trustworthy for the fields “the family corresponds to the address” and “ the family is complete” (95,7% and 93,1%), observed in the three municipal districts, indicated the reliability of the cadaster accomplished by community health agents. The referring data to the update of the pregnant, high pressure patients, and children bellow a year did not have the same reliability. Regarding the community health agents profiles, which acted in the three municipal districts, the most interviewees were women, with less than 25 years old and were studying or had already completed the second degree. The average time of stay of the professionals in Family Health Program (FHP) was 10 months, and 45% of the agents were submitted for municipal contest and the rest hired. The authors conclude that FHP's cadaster (record A/SIAB) in the three municipal districts is reliable as base populational for the amostral calculation, justifying your utilization as legitimate tool for the field health researches accomplishment in the basic and clinical areas.
