Abstract

Transhumanism is characterized by the belief in its own enhancement of human nature through scientific-technological progress, which would inaugurate a new phase in human evolution. Such discourse resembles, in some aspects, religious movements and expresses an underlying eschatological desire. Thus, this paper aims to think the eschatological dimension present in the transhumanist doctrine. To achieve this purpose, the comparative method was used, taking Paul's text 1 Corinthians 15:35-49 (which deals with the resurrection of the dead) as a paradigm in order to assist in the identification of the elements that would compose the eschatological transhumanist discourse. These elements ensure the affirmation of authentic transhumanist eschatology, with a project of immortality for humanity.
