Abstract

Rap is a diverse musical genre. Over the years, striking features such as location and content have given way to new themes, agents and territories. Religion as part of everyday experience and affirmation of an Afro-diasporic cultural identity, provides a set of images, narratives and symbols for its agents. Thus, rap presents itself as a complex discourse of the subjects' social, subjective and aesthetic life. Through it the being is thought about, its condition problematized and its transcendence questioned. Through the Synthesis group, this article aims to reflect aspects of religion and peripheral philosophical reflection described in the album Sem courtesy (2012); pointing ways of articulation between rap and the thought of the philosopher Soren Kierkegaard.
