Compassion fatigue in professionals during COVID-19

Esta pesquisa avaliou os fatores associados à Fadiga por Compaixão em profissionais da linha de frente da COVID-19. Utilizou-se como instrumentos um questionário sociodemográfico e laboral, uma Subescala da Escala Proqol-BR - Fadiga por Compaixão, uma Subescala da Escala de Estressores Psicossociais no Contexto Laboral e a DASS-21. A amostra consistiu de 192 profissionais. Mediante a análise regressão linear múltipla foi identificado um modelo explicativo composto por sete variáveis que conjuntamente explicaram 58% da variância. As variáveis preditoras foram; depressão, estressor falta de suporte social, sobrecarga de papéis, pressão do grau de responsabilidade, ter companheiro, estresse e a idade

Violence Against children and teenagers in Maceió – Alagoas

This article aimed to analyze the historical evolution and characteristics of reports of violence against children and adolescents in the city of Maceió, Alagoas. Documentary research was carried out and data from the Notifiable Diseases Information System was used. There was a high incidence of physical violence and significant violence against adolescents. The contrast between municipal and national data is highlighted, as well as the absence of communication between violence registration databases.

Creative Parenting Styles Scale: initial studies

Creativity can play an important role in parenting. The aim of this study was to build a scale to assess creative parenting styles and verify its content validity. Five judges participated in this study (M=38.00, SD=4.80), PhDs in Psychology and specialists in the area of parenting\creativity, and ten parents\guardians of children aged 7 to 12 years. The analysis of agreement with the judges, calculation of the Kappa index and semantic analysis were performed. The results showed Kappa indices between 0.238 and 0.945 for all factors, 95.6% clarity of items, indicating the content validity of the instrument.

Correlatos entre imagem corporal e saúde mental de estudantes universitários

Verificou-se a relação entre imagem corporal, ansiedade e depressão em universitários, utilizando Escala Situacional de Satisfação Corporal, Escala para Ansiedade e Depressão e questionário sociodemográfico. A análise de dados foi realizada pelo Pacote Estatístico para as Ciências Sociais (versão 20.0). Os resultados indicaram correlação negativa para os fatores “partes externas” e “satisfação/músculo” em relação aos sintomas depressivos, a sintomatologia ansiosa foi melhor explicada pelo fator “satisfação e músculo” e a depressão foi maior no preditor “partes externas”. Conclui-se que a insatisfação com a imagem corporal pode vir a contribuir para problemas com a saúde mental de estudantes universitários.

Student’s Basic Psychological Needs and Engagement

This study describes the processes of translation and cross-cultural adaptation of the instruments: Student Report of Teacher Context - short form and Engagement vs. Disaffection with Learning Student-report. Participated four English language specialists and four judges. The items have shown near-perfect content validity coefficient values (0.80 - 1), except for two items that have shown substantial coefficient values (0.60 - 0.80). Have been applied to 51 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th grade students (Μ= 10 years old) of Elementary School. There has been significant theoretical relevance regarding and levels of adequate comprehension of the items. Instruments are acceptable for future validation

Relações entre autocompaixão e marcadores fisiológicos de estresse: revisão sistemática da literatura

Patterns of physiological stress responses can be influenced by Self-Compassion which can be protective to the individual. This systematic review sought to synthesize evidence on the relationship between Self-Compassion and stress biomarkers (cortisol, Alpha-amylase, Interleukin-6, heart rate, heart rate variability and blood pressure). PubMed, PsycINFO, Scopus, and Cochrane were searched, without language restriction, and up to January 2022. Findings from 11 studies provide evidence to support the hypothesis that Self-Compassion is protective against physiological stress. Due to the methodological limitations of the studies reviewed, more rigorous research on the topic is needed.

Cognitive Training in Children and Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder. A search was carried out, guided by the PRISMA model, on the VHL, Embase, PsycInfo, PubMed and Web of Science platforms using the descriptors autism spectrum disorders, autism, asperger syndrome combined with the term cognitive training, between 2001 and 2022. The objective was to to carry out a systematic review to investigate the efficiency of cognitive training in children and adolescents with ASD in aspects of working memory and attention. The results showed improvements in attention, working memory and academic skills in children undergoing cognitive training when compared to the control group.

Psychofunctional symptomatology in infants and young mothers’ perceptions about conjugality

A cross-sectional, qualitative and comparative study, which investigated the perception of young mothers in relation to conjugality and the partner's performance as a father, in the presence or absence of marital maladjustment and psychofunctional symptoms in the infant. Ten young mothers (18-21 years old) with babies aged 6-18 months answered quantitative instruments and a semi-structured interview. We compared the reports of the contrasting groups (G1 and G2) through thematic analysis. In G1, dissatisfaction with the support received from the partner and the father-baby relationship stood out, unlike in G2, suggesting a possible impact of perceived marital conflicts on parenting and on the manifestation of psychofunctional symptoms in infants.
